New Year’s Resolutions anyone? The idea has gotten a little cliché and many people dismiss the idea.
However, I believe in them. Sometime you need that “trigger” to get you off the couch and moving.
Here is the problem. Sometimes, they involve something like joining a gym with the intent of going every day. Do these actions stick? Why can’t we stick to these goals?
I believe everything starts with your mind. If you are going to start something new, then start with your mind, your thoughts, your intentions, your fears, your “why”. This can plant some seeds and some baseline thought processes that will then help you maintain the discipline as you start to do other things, like go to the gym or lose weight.
Here are some ideas of MIND resolutions:
- Make a daily mantra of affirmations and I AM statements that you review every morning and every night.
- When you look in the mirror, find some more positive conversations to have with yourself. Have them daily.
- Read a book every day.
- Have a daily, meaningful conversation with your spouse / partner.
Random Running Thoughts
If I run uphill for 1 mile, does that equate to 2 or 3 miles on a flat surface?
