Fear and Regrets

When I turned 50 years old, I had what could be classified as a midlife crisis of sorts. I was not happy with myself and I spent a great deal of time thinking about and obsessing over my regrets about life. I had a lot of them. Regrets over past actions, regrets over things I should have done, regrets over where my relationships were, you name it, I had regrets about it.

These regrets had to be processed.

One thing I realized is that I had lived most of my life in fear of stepping out of my comfort zone, fear of putting myself out there. Even fear of trying new things.

Over the last few years, I have started to use these two thoughts together to keep me moving forward.

I am afraid of having more regrets in my life. I fear regrets.
Duder’s Challenge
As I embrace this idea, I have decided to go all in, put myself out there into the world, and constantly be trying new things. When my normal thought patterns of being afraid of doing these things, I think about how much I would regret it if I did not do it.

The fear of regrets if much more powerful that fear of doing something.

I encourage you to embrace this idea.

Do you want regrets in your life?

Be afraid of regrets. Be very afraid.
